Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born 26
August 2002 is an American singer and rapper. He rose to mainstream fame after
the release of his 2019 single "Ransom" that peaked at number 4 on
the Billboard Hot 100. The single was released as part of the mixtape he
released in his debut "We Love You Tecca" (2019), which reached the
top spot on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also featured the singles
"Love Me" and "Did It Again". The debut album of his
studio,"Virgo" (2020) it debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200.
It also featured the Billboard Hot 100-charting singles "Dolly"
& "When You Down". His second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2,
was released in August 2021 which included "Repeat It" and "Lot
of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was a child of Jamaican immigrants. He
was born August 26 2002 in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was born in Queens'
Springfield Gardens, after which he moved to Cedarhurst on Long Island. From a
young age, Sharpe had aspirations of being in the NBA however, after 12 years
of age Sharpe turned his attention toward pursuing a career path in music.
Sharpe was a student at Lawrence High School. Tecca was nine years of age when
he began to rap over his Xbox. They would make tracks of diss directed at one
another One of them was uploaded to SoundCloud years ago, but has since been
removed. He initially had no plans to pursue a music career although he did
dream of becoming a NBA superstar. However, in the middle of his schooling, he
resigned himself to basketball and started to take music more seriously. His
first track to gain some attention, "Tectri", was recorded by him and
his friend, Lil Gummybear, and it was released in the early part of 2017. He
also dropped "Callin" in the same year, which was one of his early
songs. The career of Tecca began a year later when he released the smash single
"Ransom" released and uploaded to Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade
YouTube channel in May 22 the 22nd of May, 2019. It reached the top spot at 4
on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and has been played over 900,000,000 times on
Spotify and more than 300 million times on YouTube.
